Inside the mind of the CLIL teacher
Dra. Maria Ellison – Universidad de Oporto
ACCESO AL VÍDEO EN LA PESTAÑA EBSPAIN - DESARROLLO PROFESIONAL
It is common knowledge that CLIL teachers have a lot to think about. It is also true that CLIL poses a cognitive and affective challenge to those involved in it, many of whom have not been adequately prepared for the personal and professional change that this inevitably brings. This is because teachers are formally trained to be content or language teachers and rarely encouraged to think like both. In this talk, we will reflect on what it means to think like a CLIL teacher focusing on the key concepts of attitude, integration and identity. We will conclude by considering the benefits CLIL brings to our minds and professional development.
